Mystery Shoppers keep our drivers on their toes
|
Occasionally we hire mystery shoppers who call for a taxi and get the driver to take them to an address. We get a report of the service, response times, drivers, driving etc. We're not looking for them to find fault, just to get their perspective from a normal everyday person's point of view.
TV3's Target program recently went undercover to investigate the service levels of Auckland's taxis. Out of 10 taxi companies surveyed in Auckland, only 2 passed! Alert Taxis came out with the highest score both in 2007 and 2009, a great feather in our cap.

Driver complaints are handled without hesitation
|
If we receive a complaint about a driver for dangerous driving or careless use, we don't hesitate. We bring the driver in, and he gets sent to PassRite where he goes through a commercial driving test. The driver pays for this test himself. The commercial driving assessors assess him for 2 to 3 hours on their commercial driving standard. We find this works very well; it refreshes the driver and helps to get rid of any bad habits.

Our on-site workshop ensures the vehicles are kept in tip top condition
|
We run our own workshop, and our workshop team work hard to ensure that the Alert fleet is kept in top shape. All company owned vehicles are serviced in the workshop on a 5 weekly basis. The vehicles are required to obtain a certificate of fitness every 6 months. The company requires all other vehicles to be serviced two or three times during the year in our on-site workshop to ensure that the driver owned vehicles are up to standard.
